How to Remove Write Protection From Pen Drive(updated)

In my previous post I have shown you, “How to Write Protect Pen Drive”. In this post I am going to show you, “How to Remove Write Protection from Pen Drive”


You can remove write protection from your pen drive easily, just follow each and every step very carefully and you can also check out my video on "How to Remove Write protection from Pen Drive".



Step 1:
Open “Command Prompt”. To open command prompt press keyboard shortcut “Windows + R” and type “cmd” press enter.

You can simply right click on the start menu icon and select“Command Prompt” or “Command Prompt (Admin)”

Step 2:
Type “diskpart” and press enter.

Step 3:
Type “list disk” and press enter.

Step 4:
Type “select disk (Enter disk number)” and press enter.
Example: if disk number of your pen drive is 1 then type “select disk 1”

Step 5:
Type “attribute disk clear read only” and press enter.

Now write protection or password protection from your pen drive will be removed from your pen drive.
